When it comes to caring for vulnerable children in our community, we all have a role to play. While we are not all called to foster or adopt children into our homes, we are all called to care. Learn more about what step you can take!
Foster care & adoption
Open your home to a child in need.
Develop a relationship with a foster child & provide occasional care.
Support birth families
Care for and mentor biological parents of at-risk children.
wrap-around foster families
Provide support & assistance to foster families.
Support social workers
Partner with and support members of the Child Welfare System.
Mentor older/aged-out youth
Provide guidance to an older child.

Are you interested in becoming a foster parent? Perhaps you just want to learn more about what role you can play in meeting the needs of vulnerable children and families. Join us at the Tuckahoe Library on December 2 for coffee, cookies, connection and conversation.
Representatives from Henrico County, UMFS and HopeTree Family Services will be present to answer any questions you may have.
This event is being hosted by IntertwinedFamily in partnership with West End Assembly of God, Hope Church, Third Church, Gayton Church and Virginia Kids Belong.

UMFS Foster Parent Info Session (6:00p-7:00p)
Attend our information session to learn more about how you can help by becoming a foster parent. Our information session requires no commitment. During our time together we’ll provide more details about the children and teens we serve, as well as the extensive training and comprehensive support UMFS provides along the way.
